Put the kids to bed and tune in for Ashley Jones's (Bridget Forrester) titillating movie thriller about a single mom led down the path of sexual discovery by a man she has never even met. Lifetime premieres The Secret Life of a Single Mom on May 31, 2014 at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central. Viewer discretion is advised.
In the creation of the film, Jones took on dual roles to produce and star in the drama, which is based on a memoir written by Delaine Moore. After surviving a broken marriage, Jones's character, Delaine Morris, delves back into dating and begins corresponding with "The Duke," a faraway stranger with strong views on women's sexuality and power. Under his instruction, Delaine asserts her sexual desires over local men, all the while yearning to meet the elusive Duke.
Just as Jones's character balances her roles by day and night, Jones walked a fine line between her acting instincts and her decisions as a producer. At times, her inner actor pulled her in directions different from the script and caused conflict with her inner producer. "There were a couple of moments where, as an actor, I would have wanted to argue with the producer, and so those were interesting moments and you have to reconcile that. But, we figured it out and pushed forward," Jones revealed to Soap Opera Digest.
General Hospital's Cynthia Preston (Faith Rosco) stars alongside Jones in the sultry thriller, which airs three more times in June following the May 31st premiere. Check your local listings for the dates and times in yoiur area.
