As the World Turns alum Meredith Hagner (ex-Liberty Ciccone) surprised fans with a fun announcement via Instagram: She and her husband, Wyatt Russell, are expecting their first child.
Hagner posted a photo from her festive baby shower along with the caption, "Cat (baby) is out of the bag! But still very much in the bag (placenta). What a wild gift to carry this sweet life. My soulmate/ husband and I are overjoyed. Thanks to my California nearest and dearests for this magical, heavily covid tested day."
Russell and Hagner fell in love in 2016 while filming Folk Hero & Funny Guy. They got engaged in Colorado in 2018 and married in a Western-themed Colorado ceremony in 2019.
The marriage made Hagner daughter-in-law to Hollywood stars Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn as well as sister-in-law to actors Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson, the latter of whom shared several heart emojis under Hagner's baby news post.
The Young and the Restless' Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman) also popped into the comment section of Hagner's post to write, "Yayyyy, congrats!!!"
Hagner's first acting role was playing ATWT's Liberty -- the daughter that Brad Snyder (Austin Peck) never knew he had -- from 2008 to 2010. She went on to star in series like Lights Out, Men at Work, Veep, Royal Pains, Younger, and Search Party. Her most recent project is the film Vacation Friends, which is currently in post-production.
Russell is a former hockey player who later turned to acting when his sports career was cut short due to an injury. His credits include Escape from L.A., Soldier, Cowboys & Aliens, This is 40, Black Mirror, and The Good Lord Bird.
