Everyone loves a good long-lost sibling soap opera storyline, but long-lost sibling scenarios are even better in real-life. Don't believe us? Just ask Eva LaRue (ex-Maria Santos, All My Children; ex-Celeste Rosales, The Young and the Restless), who recently discovered that she has a third sister.
The actress took to social media with the unusual news, sharing that an at-home DNA test revealed that her sibling circle was larger than she ever knew.
"It's a girl!" LaRue joked on Instagram. "We expanded our family! Thanks to 23andMe we are suddenly four sisters (and brother, of course)! Sometimes, when you're minding your own beeswax, life throws you a huge plot twist!"
The actress shares that together with her existing siblings -- sisters Nika and Lara, and brother Luis Jr. -- as well as other members of her family, she met with her newfound sister, Stacy Hiles Lynch, and some of the other Lynch family members. Fortunately, the family "reunion" was a huge success.
"Our new family members fit right in like we've been together all along," LaRue shares. "What a crazy miracle to be connected through relatively new DNA technology. So many feelings, revelations, and puzzles to wade through and piece together. How weird, wonderful, and incredible this life."
Lynch was also thrilled to discover relatives she never knew existed. "Thank you, 23andMe, for helping me find my family!" she exclaims. "We have new cousins, uncles, aunts, and I have three new sisters! So much love to share! What an amazing weekend."
Eva LaRue played the role of AMC's Dr. Maria Santos from 1993 to 1997 and again from 2002 to 2005. She briefly reprised the role in 2010 for the ABC soap's 40th anniversary and again in 2011 to help end the drama's network run. She appeared on Y&R in 2019 as Celeste Rosales, the mother of Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), Lola (Sasha Calle), and Arturo (Jason Canela). Some of her other credits include CSI: Miami, Fuller House, Santa Barbara, and Third Watch.
