All My Children's Tad the Cad charmed the pants off a lot of women during his Pine Valley days, but feisty Greenlee Smythe never ended up in his bed. Sadly, we'll probably never see anything of the sort play out between the two characters -- or anything of a tamer nature, either -- due to the cancellation of the ABC series. But that doesn't mean the character's former portrayers, Michael E. Knight and Rebecca Budig, won't have a chance to act together again. In fact, they're playing in the creative sandbox together right now.
Budig recently revealed that since leaving her role as General Hospital's Hayden Barnes last year, she has had a lot of time to delve into other projects and passions, including an acting class that she is taking with Knight.
"He's brilliant!" the actress enthused to Soaps In Depth magazine, adding that reuniting with her former costar has been "like seeing a family member" and "it's been really nice to watch his work."
As it's just for playing around and keeping their skills fresh, there's no guarantee that the acting class will lead to any new gigs for either Knight or Budig. And that's just as well in Budig's case, as millions of daytime viewers would love to see her back at GH.
"It was very flattering for [the viewers] to have actually grown to like Hayden, because a lot of people didn't in the beginning," Budig says of the fan love. "So their response to me leaving was so heartwarming."
But would she return to Port Charles if the powers that be came calling? Of course! "Who wouldn't want to play all of that juicy stuff?!"
