Former All My Children stars Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley Vaughan) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo Santos) are working on another partnership. The real-life married couple is developing a new primetime comedy project for ABC.
Dateline Hollywood reports that Ripa and Consuelos will co-write Port Love, a series that is described as a workplace comedy that will take place backstage at a formerly popular network series. Consuelos will star in the project, while Ripa is slated to have a recurring role.
This isn't the first time that Ripa will pull double-duty while co-hosting her morning chat show with Regis Philbin. When Ripa first landed opposite "Reege," she appeared simultaneously on All My Children. Ripa also juggled her schedule for three seasons when she starred in the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith.
Last year, Ripa and Consuelos partnered together on Masters of Reception, a reality series about a family-owned wedding planning business. The pair also developed a reality series for TLC that followed women inventors.
Ripa and Consuelos last appeared on All My Children in January to help mark the ABC soap's 40th anniversary. Meanwhile. Ripa will mark her 10th anniversary on Live with Regis and Kelly in February 2011.
