Mathew St. Patrick has found a new home. Make that a new Home Box Office.
The good-looking actor, who's been seen as former secret agent Adrian Sword on All My Children since April 1998, will depart the show later this fall for a role in a new dark comedy on HBO called "Six Feet Under."
According to a press release, "Six Feet Under" is a dark comedy that takes place in and around a funeral home. The show was created by Alan Ball, who also wrote last year's Oscar graced "American Beauty." St. Patrick will play an LAPD officer in the series. "Six Feet Under" will debut in the spring after HBO's high-profile "The Sopranos."
St. Patrick will have to relocate out west for his part in the series. St. Patrick was previously based in Los Angeles, having worked as Detective Marcus Taggert on General Hospital, and Beverly Hills, 90210.
ABC has offered no official comment on St. Patrick's planned departure, nor has a final air-date been given. The network did, however, know of the actor's plans to take the role in "Six Feet Under." Several weeks ago, the network issued a casting call for a replacement Adrian. There's no word if a replacement has been tapped or if the character will simply leave Pine Valley.
